I took this photo last year in Mexico. It reminds me that I am eternally thankful for the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with over the years. Yesterday I received an email from a past client of mine whom I have had the honor of working with. She was the president of a well-known university and reached out to let me know how much impact I have had on her life.
“Rachel, it has now been nearly a year since we last spoke, and I want to thank you for all of the wisdom and support you shared with me over the last few years of my presidency. Your wise advice about retirement has influenced me — I journal almost daily and have been meditating with guidance from HeadSpace (love it!!). I have not had a moment of boredom, wistfulness, or regret at leaving my job. Your voice is often in my head telling me that the right choice will become clear if I am open to listening and not pushing for an answer before it is time. The goal of this note is to let you know that your connections with your clients leave a long-lasting impact on their lives and that I deeply appreciate having had you part of my life.”
When you do what you love, impact happens naturally to both parties involved. Collectively, we can make the world a better place.
